Project requirement
A French customer requested four replacement cartridges against an existing CSS-40-10-S-V-DO reference. The stated target was 40 µm filtration, 10-inch length, SS316 construction, double-open-end connections and Viton seals. The request also cited twill Dutch weave, 0.5 ft² filtration area, a 60 psi differential-pressure figure and a construction without adhesive.
Engineering question
A replacement claim depends on more than nominal length and micron rating. The end geometry, gasket dimensions, seal material, media construction and available area should be compared with the customer's old cartridge or drawing. The quoted pressure figure is a customer-supplied requirement, not a tested KAIFIL rating. Welded and crimped construction may address the no-adhesive request, pending a manufacturable design review.
Project status
The replacement cartridge project was delivered. This case does not claim independent fit equivalence or validation of the stated differential-pressure figure.
Design review
The 10-inch, double-open-end reference needs a full interface check: end geometry, gasket section, media area and support must fit the existing housing. The quoted 40 µm target and 60 psi differential-pressure figure came from the customer requirement; their test definitions must be agreed before they become acceptance criteria.
Inspection and acceptance
Four replacement cartridges were delivered. The repeat-order specification links the double-open-end dimensions, seal section, mesh construction and support arrangement to the housing. Specify the Viton compound for the process fluid and cleaning chemistry, and define the differential-pressure test conditions with the order.
