Rigid sintered mesh for reusable cartridges

A sintered mesh cartridge uses a bonded multilayer metal wall as its filtering medium. The fine control mesh retains solids, while drainage and backing layers support the structure. Forming the laminate into a cylinder and joining it to end fittings creates a replaceable element for process liquid or gas filtration.

Diameter, length and interface form one assembly

The dimensional table lists complete diameter and length combinations with their end-connection options. Plain ends suit assemblies with separate sealing or clamping features. Metric threads connect directly to a mating threaded seat. The 222 and 226 forms use O-ring sealing arrangements; the housing drawing defines insertion depth, seal engagement and locating details.

Media grade and filtration area

Choose the nominal media grade alongside fluid viscosity, flow and pressure difference. The active cylindrical surface, end-joint margins and supporting structure determine usable area. An outside diameter alone is insufficient to size the flow path: include active length, the housing bore and the direction of normal filtration and backwashing.

Cleaning and replacement fit

Reusable cartridges are cleaned by backwashing, ultrasonic treatment or deposit-specific chemical cleaning. Protect the sealing surfaces and inspect the seam and end joints after cleaning. For a replacement, measure overall length, sealing diameter, thread pitch and installation clearance. A dimensioned housing interface gives a consistent basis for repeated orders.

Integration with the filter assembly

The cylindrical laminate is joined along a longitudinal seam, then connected to plain ends, threaded fittings or single-open-end 222/226 adapters. Straight and conical bodies have different developed profiles; the body drawing defines the actual taper and support contact. A flange establishes a mounting face, while an adapter establishes the sealing diameter and insertion depth. The dimensional table groups complete cartridge combinations. Inspection follows each selected row through body geometry, end connection, weld continuity and seal position.

DOE, SOE and locating ends

DOE means double open end; SOE means single open end. A 222 or 226 adapter specifies an O-ring sealing and retention interface at the open end of an SOE cartridge. A fin locates the opposite closed end in the housing support. Record both ends on the replacement drawing, together with overall length, seal diameter, insertion depth and any locking lugs.

Dimensions are paired by row. Plain-end fittings, metric threads and O-ring ends provide distinct installation interfaces.

Applications

Process liquid filtration

Rigid metal cartridges combine a fine control layer with a supported cylindrical wall.

Gas and vent filtration

Bonded media and sealed end connections integrate the element into a gas-flow housing.

Equipment replacement elements

Defined threads, end seats and cylinder dimensions reproduce the installation interface.

Selection guide

Include these details when discussing your requirements.

Choose the medium
State nominal grade, material, fluid and required clean flow.
Select a dimensional row
Pair outside diameter, length and end connection from the table.
Define the housing seal
Provide thread pitch or O-ring seat dimensions, insertion depth and end details.
Describe cleaning and load
Supply normal and reverse-flow conditions, differential pressure and cleaning chemistry.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the medium and the cartridge?

The medium defines the porous filtering wall. The complete cartridge adds seams, end fittings, supports and the housing seal.

How do I identify a threaded connection?

Measure the thread major diameter and pitch and identify whether the mating connection is internal or external. Include the seating face on the drawing.

Which dimensions are needed for 222 or 226 ends?

Provide the housing interface, O-ring seat dimensions, insertion depth, overall length and locating features.

How is cleaning recovery checked?

Compare clean pressure drop or flow before and after cleaning at the same fluid, temperature and flow conditions, then inspect the seals and joints.
