Project requirement
A German commercial-kitchen equipment customer requested a quantity of 30 mesh-filter assemblies from a customer drawing. The outer dimensions were 325 × 117 × 12 mm, with an AISI 304 C-frame and four 5 mm holes. The supplied design included expanded-metal layers and a corrugated construction.
Engineering question
The filter has to fit as an assembly, so the frame, hole locations, layer stack and 12 mm thickness should be reviewed together. The drawing should govern which metal layers face each side and how the corrugation is retained. This is a useful example of quoting to a customer's defined assembly rather than a catalog filter size.
Project status
The drawing-based framed-filter project was delivered. This case does not claim installation or operating results in the customer’s equipment.
Design review
The 325 × 117 × 12 mm framed assembly must be reviewed as a stack, not as a flat piece of mesh. Hole positions, frame profile, expanded-metal layers and corrugation determine mounting and overall thickness. The customer drawing should control orientation, joining and any sharp-edge or cleaning requirement.
Inspection and acceptance
The drawing-based project was delivered. Its description does not include an installed airflow, grease-removal or service-life test. A repeat order should use the approved drawing revision and, if available, a retained sample.
