The estimate uses the area of the outer circle minus the area of the centre opening, multiplied by thickness and material density. Enter all dimensions in millimetres and density in grams per cubic centimetre.
This method applies to a solid sheet. It does not subtract perforations and does not include wire mesh, welded rims, support rings or other attached parts. Use the drawing or a measured sample for final shipping weight.
For a filter-disc quotation, send the outside and inside diameters, material, thickness or mesh construction, edge treatment, quantities and any locating features.
Design review
Enter outer diameter, any centre opening, sheet thickness and a material density in consistent units. The tool multiplies the annular solid-sheet area by thickness and density. It is useful for an early material estimate or a check on the order of magnitude, especially when comparing solid disc outlines.
Inspection and acceptance
Do not use this mass as the shipped weight of a perforated, woven or multilayer filter disc. Holes, mesh voids, rims, welds and attached supports change the result; packaging changes shipping weight again. Send a finished drawing and construction details for a quotation or inspection criterion.
