Product details

Closely packed wires and tortuous pores

Twill Dutch weave combines the over-two, under-two crossing with unequal warp and weft counts and wire diameters. Closely packed wires create a three-dimensional flow path. Select it by its complete woven construction and pore designation, rather than a visible square opening.

Read warp and weft together

The count and wire-diameter pairs are written warp × weft. For example, 20 × 270 uses 0.25 × 0.20 mm wire, a 119 µm pore designation, 17.6% effective filtering area, 3.14 kg/m² mass and 0.65 mm thickness. These six values describe one construction.

Pore size and filtering area

The series spans pore designations of 3–119 µm. Pore designation describes the cloth series; effective filtering area describes its flow passages. A specified particle-retention or bubble-point method provides a separate acceptance basis when the process needs a measured filtration result.

Material and conversion

We supply rolls, sheets, slit strips and cut blanks in the selected stainless steel grade. Keep warp direction and the supporting face on the part drawing. Discs, cylinders and pleated components need their own dimensions, support and joining details.

Thickness and support

Use the paired cloth thickness when setting clamp clearance and stack height. Define the backing, support span and flow direction for the finished component. Differential pressure belongs to the supported assembly and its loading condition.

Inspection and repeat ordering

Inspect warp/weft counts, both wire diameters, weave, thickness, dimensions and mesh defects. Record the chosen row and grade on repeat orders. Where retention is specified, retain the test medium, procedure and acceptance criterion with the order.

Micronic filter cloth: specify the weave

Micronic filter cloth is a trade term for fine woven metal filter cloth. This page specifies the Dutch construction by its complete warp × weft count, both wire diameters and pore designation. Keep these values together when ordering cut discs, liners or cartridge media. Particle-retention acceptance uses the stated test method and criterion.

Selection guide

Include these details when discussing your requirements.

Select the pore designation
Choose one complete row, then define any required retention test.
Check thickness and flow face
Use the paired thickness and effective area to lay out the supported part.
Match alloy and cleaning
Select the cloth and joining materials for the fluid, temperature and cleaning method.

Frequently asked questions

Can I calculate the pore from one mesh count?

Use the complete warp/weft count and wire pair. Dutch pores follow a three-dimensional path and are not calculated as a square aperture from a single count.

What does 3 µm mean in this series?

It is the pore designation paired with the 500 × 3500 construction. Specify a test method and criterion separately for a measured retention requirement.

Why are mass and thickness paired?

Both change with the woven construction. Keeping them with the same count and wire pair helps define stack height, support and material consumption.
