Product details

A screen within a rotating separation assembly

The basket forms the permeable wall of a screening centrifuge. Liquid passes through the slots under centrifugal loading while retained solids move along the specified discharge path. The component schedule identifies the screening surface, support structure, mounting ring and discharge edge.

Cylindrical and conical working surfaces

Cylindrical baskets are defined by working diameter and length. Conical baskets require both end diameters, axial length and cone angle. Inlet and discharge ends are identified explicitly so the slot surface and end rings match the machine geometry.

The working surface and support rings are defined separately from the mounting datum and solids-discharge edge.

Slots, supports and solids travel

The narrow opening is measured at the working face of the profile wires. Wire direction and support positions are coordinated with solids travel and the machine’s transport mechanism. The back of the screening surface provides the liquid exit path; reinforcement and mounting features are recorded separately.

Mounting datum and rotating fit

The installation drawing defines the locating diameter, axial seat, bolt pattern and rotation axis. Radial runout and axial face runout refer to those datums. The drawing also carries the operating-speed and balancing requirements of the complete rotating assembly, along with the inspection method.

Materials, inspection and replacement

Choose 304 or 316L stainless steel, or a defined 2205/2507 duplex construction, for the actual corrosion and wear duty. Inspect slots, working geometry, attachment and mounting surfaces. A replacement schedule includes feed, solids, liquid, cleaning and machine-interface data so the new basket fits its specific position.

Each row pairs the face width, profile height and relief angle of one V-wire section. The angle describes the wire cross-section; the basket cone angle is defined by the basket drawing. Select the working-face slot separately, then coordinate wire direction, supports and mounting rings with the rotating assembly.

Selection guide

Include these details when discussing your requirements.

Machine position
Match the basket to the machine interface and its solids-transport mechanism.
Working shape
Choose cylindrical or conical geometry from the actual inlet and discharge arrangement.
Screen construction
Set slot, profile and support arrangement for the feed and centrifugal load.
Rotating assembly
Define mounting datums, speed and balancing requirements with the assembly drawing.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from a static strainer basket?

Its screen and mounting geometry belong to a rotating assembly and include rotation-axis, runout and balancing requirements.

What defines a conical basket?

Small and large working diameters, axial length, cone angle, inlet and discharge ends, and mounting datums.

Where is the slot measured?

At the narrow opening on the working face, with the wire orientation and sampling positions specified.

Which data accompany a replacement basket?

Machine-interface drawing, speed, feed, discharge path, slot construction, material and acceptance requirements.

How is balance specified?

The rotating-assembly drawing defines the balancing requirement, assembly condition and inspection method.
